In light of the decisive Plenary vote on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) revision happening next week, EuroACE has published a letter addressed to relevant MEPs and signed by several business leaders.
Business leaders argue that energy efficiency is the best policy to address the current energy prices and inflation crisis, while also driving progress towards carbon neutrality and improving living conditions.
In the letter, business leaders urge MEPs to align MEPS with increased access to quality information and guidance, and new financial instruments to mobilize investment in renovation. The building sector has huge potential for energy savings and greenhouse gas emissions reductions, and industry players are ready to provide the right solutions, such as insulation.
MEPs shall take this opportunity to vote for a strong EPBD that can help shield Europeans from high energy prices, improve energy security, and create a more sustainable and resilient future.
