CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS

Effective since July 2013, the 1989 Construction Products Directive has been replaced by the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) 305/2011. The CPR lays down harmonized rules for the marketing of construction products, supporting therefore the achievement of the internal market in the EU. While the CPR is not perfect, inconsistencies related to setting of certain rules and their implementation and enforcement at a national level still exist, it did bring significant improvements to the market, including for the PU industry and its customers. With regards to the provisions that require further clarification or guidance, PU Europe actively contributes to the discussion via a number of European platforms, including CEN and CPE, always striving for a level playing field that benefit society.
