The position paper written by Deutsche Bauchemie and other German associations, and co-signed by PU Europe, addresses the importance of recognising mass balance approaches in Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) standards and in the building sector.
The key message is the importance of the mass balance credit method as chain-of-custody for renewable/recycled feedstocks in European standards and for EPD program operators. This recognition is essential to accompany construction material supply chains in their drive towards a Circular Economy.
